The Choker

14:34

Back in the 90's when I was rather young and clueless , I fell in love with this piece of Jewelry -  "The Choker". I remember wanting to transform any necklace my mum got me into one. Fast-forward 20yrs later  , Chokers have been made cool again by the likes of BadgalRiri & Kendall. Sadly, I'm so indecisive when it comes to buying things that are currently in "vogue or trendy" .... my basic instinct is not to splurge as you'd probably get over this piece sooner than you thought. I decided to search for places to get budget-friendly chokers & here are a few favourites, mostly from Superbalist & Spree ..

Superbalist

First up we have the 3 pack choker from Dailyfriday , it retails for R199 and comes in different colours in 4 various ranges - Purple , Mint , Amber & Rasberry

I must warn you that they sell out in the blink of an eye and always have specials running every week. You get a 250 rand discount off your first purchase with a minimum spend.

Next up The leather Choker  -  R179

I went on to Spree, they had budget friendly chokers but not entirely sure if they are to my liking. The chokers aren't as snug as you'd expect. Pictures and links below

Spree

  • Circular Choker Black by Joy Collectables - also comes in a Triangle - R79

  • Woolworths

These were my favourite chokers from the great interweb. Zando has a few for a similar or even lower price range but the pictures don't really give a hint on the size or fitting on a human neck so :/

Alternatively ,you could check out Lovisa , the Jewelry haven for most. Unfortunately, no online store the average price of a choker from Lovisa ranges from R 180 to R250*. They have a wider range and you'd definitely find something unique.

If you feel I missed out on a great find let me know in the comments below.

    Till next time.

The hunt for the perfect cleansing brush

    11:10

So one of my goals this year is to have clear skin ,i.e leave my house happily and confident without feeling like I should have worn make up to cover my ugly dark spots. I'm sure you all heard about the movement, bloggers (mostly abroad) swearing by the vanity planet brushes here & their different discount codes .. well I happily trolled along to their website but the shipping costs always just make me empty my cart * broke student problems * hence I decided to surf the beautiful inter-web for cheaper alternatives in South Africa and viola I came across a few options ...

First and Foremost Clicks - cause everyone in South Africa should have access to one Clicks store.

    Rechargeable Facial Cleanser

The name I must say is a bit weird .. it gives no clue that this is a brush. , It comes with 3 different heads & replacements come from as low as R39 to R50.

    4. 4 in 1 Body Cleansing Brush -R695

This brush is also from Hey gorgeous and looks verrrry similar to the vanity planet brush set.Its a body brush but your face is part of your body so I'm pretty certain you can use it for that too.
It retails fro R695 on their website, available here.

    5. Dual Action Sonic Cleansing Brush - R 675

Another Hey Gorgeous brush , this one is slightly different : it comes with 2 heads & you know they say 2 heads are better than one ? I'm not sure about that for this item ... not sure it'd be that easy to navigate around your face.. but hey thats just me.

    • Compact, lightweight, daily sonic cleansing for radiant looking skin at home or on the go.
    • Waterproof.
    • Battery operated (Takes 2 AA batteries – not included)
